I’m ready, Your Honour, and plead “not guilty”,
to the charge of intrusion into vaults of the soul
and the charge of corruption unfounded and thin
bears the weight of a fly when all comes to mind.

As for keeping and holding invisible needs
I plead “guilty” and humbly petition the Court
for its hand of justice and heart of mercy.

It’s a question, you see, of unraveling my brain
and making my way to the mountain of truth
where the view stretches out from days into years
and allows me see there’s no change in me.

Not ever forward and bold to presume,
shy to the point of asking permission,
and always responder and not instigator
so how can it be I stand here accused?

We can always consider my need to know
as a fault in the system of human make up
but who is the vendor of mysterious moves
and who offered a deal I couldn’t refuse?

Over there in the corner, that man, that man,
tore me apart with a battering ram,
refreshed with laughter my silent despair,
and awoke desire from the ash of denial.

I’m not guilty, I’m not, but know I have lost
my welcoming heart and open arms
for no more can I be perceived as a thief
when all I’ve acquired are invisible needs.

The Court in session deigns to not rule
for degrees of blame rest between two
but the accused is cautioned not to open the door,
knock, or give in to the need to know.

Yes, Your Honour, I hear and believe
the sentence is harsh but so it will be …
maybe!

I think this is an excellent way of expressing and "testing"...  I, for one,
would rule favorably, without question.

Thank you for that, Magnus, but maybe the Judge is right.  Time will tell.

I'm not sure who the judge is in this instance, but any woman who has been controlled for any period of time in any way would understand the full commitment of your reach...

any woman.

Hugs to you, Helen.  Stand tall.
