A Quiet Crowd Of Rain

a quiet crowd
of rain
tumbles
past the
window

every drop
loving
the ground

rushing to her
heedless

while
our own
sheets

dry

warm
to the
window’s
coolness

bless us in
other ways

we lie here
contented
witnesses

to a thousand
thousand
trysts

Well the title drew me in...
but the poem kept me here...
listening...
a quiet spot of light
in shadows.

well done....

I know you don't get rain often... but when it inspires so beautifully, I can only wish more falls your way. *S*

I agree with Sunshine... the poem that follows lives up to every expectation your fantastic title generated... and then some. *S*

trysts

What a lovely image! *S*

"A Quiet Crowd of Rain" ~ a poetic and highly intriguing title.

I identified with, understood, and felt your words. Very appealing read.

Rain, rain, don't go away
Please stay another day.

a lovely, peaceful feeling in your poem as I sit here watching my own quiet rainfall. It appears to be a rapid one with many drops per inch and the wolf-laprobe hanging on the fence has ceased its drying/a contrast to your sheets--yep, title brought me in, too.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Very nice write. I write about rain all the time, so I quite enjoyed this...

Umm... everything everyone else says. They said it better then I can. It rains here all the time, and I love the rain, but I could never give it words like this...
Love it.

I'm always intrigued when the word placement supports the theme so well.  Great job!  Ken
