Sunflowers burst the seams
of starkness

eyes captured within glowing starred skies
and etchings of miner hearts
stuck in timeless quicksand

and forever I say
is not long enough
to know the all of you

for even now I find
your heart in a blade of grass,
feel your angst
within the very fall
of the sunflower seed’s head
as it drops its gaze,
turning its face from the sun.

And you never knew
someone would stand here
in bared soul, missing you,
missing the blue only you knew
how to convey all the hopes and dreams
in lonely midnight screams
captured within brushed moments,
hushed sighs,
society’s lies set aside

and all the while
one heart did bleed true

did bleed need
(the way only you could do)

while quietly I now survey the horizon,
absorbing the wildest west winds
and sweetest scents of grace
that still caress an upturned face

as one who begged God for true love
but found instead pain and sorrow
oh, the easeled life of strife
caught within those never ending swirls

and if the heart never lies
I do believe

I know you.

I have to tell you that this IS the one!  For me anyway.  This is my absolute favorite of yours now Kacy, and worth waiting for.  Beautiful!

more like a heart bursting at the seams...
my oh my...this is lovely Kacy....
me thinks I shall place it in me treasure chest

I would love to live as a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.

OH my Kacy!!
This is exquisite!  The feelings here are so real.
This is by far the best piece you have ever written.
I do hope you will share more of this side of you with us.

Just like a sunflower, Kacy.

I love them yanno.

A flower that bears so much seed it bends...

reminds me of the poet who wrote it.
