Spirit flutes dance a wind song
caressing the air in gentlest breeze,
finding me on bended knees
in worship of the grace of life,
mindful moments overcoming strife
in the sheer beauty of the wind, the skies
the dragon flies and butterflies
and all creatures, now and then
that rest within the songs of wind
as the play of flute melodies
across the Rockies, across the seas.
Natures notes lighten the heavy load of tragedy
that weighs down weakened humans every day.
Spirit flutes float on the winds of time,
and in their harmonies remind us
we are not Earth’s rulers, but guests.
May we dance accordingly.

Inscribed on a Painting

On the mountain, old trees, still green in autumn.
Below the mountain, a fishing boat, moored in shallow waters.

A flute, alone in the moonlight, heard by no one else:

he plays it by himself,
for himself to hear.

I echo the sentiment in these lines with my heart.  Thank you.

'Tis hard to pick a fav'rite line
I like 'em all just mighty fine
But should I pick the one for mine
The seventeeth sure bears earth's sign.

Tilt at those windmills, Kacy, you are among the best at it. Ken

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Yes, Kacy...we are but guests...
and caretakers...

May the right way
never disappear...

And the balance of life rests in the knowledge that I am no more and no less than the forest of trees, the songs of the feathered, or the colors of the petals.  I am just one small granule of a unit that encompasses all to be complete.

Wonderful write and loved the theme, but that is not a secret I don't think.

Kacy,
'Tis so true. If only we were better at it. Seems many don't care. Thank you for your voice!

This so reminded me of my boy, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull.

He taunted me from the stage one night mercilessly as I tried to reach for a bit of fur off of his suede boots...

you brought it back with your magick lady.

(and I was thisclose to getting that memento too!)

Thanks Kacy!
