Acetylene the Gray(Torching the Moody Sky)

caffeine at my fingertips
mumbo-jumbo on my lips
ad-lib shooting
from the hips
lend muddle to the day

carbs and protein vie
a question do or die
might be ending
in a tie
as the ruckus makes its way

ripples ‘cross the land
from winds upon the sand
waves of recourse
take a stand
to shape and mold the clay

as a settling occurs
my inner spirit purrs
what I see no
longer blurs
my thoughts have found their way

might we dance and play
this breezy autumn day
shall we cease from
making hay
and inhale its sweet bouquet

©October 16, 2004

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I really shouldn't add this, but after reading your sweet comments and rereading my poem, as I lingered on my thought of the days bouquet I unfortunately also had clear view of my neighbor "harvesting" her dog's "do" from the lawn just ahead of her brother's mowing. I'm glad I'm inside the glad and can't even smell the mower's pass, let alone the reeking of her reaping. :O}

Now to add a bit of humor, their automatic sprinkles came on, first evident in her scream and then laughter. Fortunately, it's just under 70 degrees, not in a more normal October morning's 50's.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

It's great that you can write such amazing poetry while suffering from the nastier effects of neighbours' pets.   In my case it's cat do on the grass that I was hoping to harvest for my rabbits.

This is a wonderful world, but how nice to have a place to go to escape the seamier side of day to day reality.

Long live pen and paper - I mean, keyboard and screen.

Virginia,  enjoyed this little piece of a
season...  When I first saw the title, I
thought of grey hair....and I knew that I
would not need a torch to get rid of mine,
only a match,  small one...

Virginia, I loved the poem and definitely think you should take the day off.

Then I read your follow-up and I was on the floor laughing. Ah, the joy of neighbors.
