I tossed a stone
into the crashing waves at the sea

only to see that stone
come flying back at me

so of course,
I saw it as an omen

and promptly stuffed that stone
into my pocket as a reminder

to be more careful next time
‘bout what I throw away.

Stones

They are dreaming existence.
One is a man, and one
is a woman.  Beside them an animal,

someone who followed them
into the distance
until their feet grew heavy
and sank in the soil.

And the life within them became
an expanding shadow,
a blue gravel on which they fed
as they changed;

standing there so solid and dark,
as if they were waiting
for God to remember their names.

ah, I agree with you Kacy.  Seems the things we try to throw away are the ones that want to keep coming back.  Well done gal.

I'd be content (and have a cleaner house) if I could throw anything away.  A pleasure to read you, always.  Ken

Hehe - cute.

Thanks, Martin, Donna, Dixie. Glad you enjoyed.
Ken, just pack up and move as often as me... then the thrift stores will have a field day and you'll lighten that load.  LOL.
Susan, LOL, just ducking from life's boomerangs and throwbacks.

Kacy,
I knew about those living in glass houses! But the beach? Hmmm, what beach was that? Not an Oregon beach I'm sure!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

LOL, of course, it was an Oregon beach. Sad to say, Cannon Beach was so polluted last week they warned everyone to stay out of the water or get sick.

LOL, thanks for that juju. And yet? what if your mortal enemy is on it and intends to burn it right after they take control of your home space? is it then a good idea to burn that bridge?
Sheesh! my brain must be getting fried, maybe needs a short break. But I'll hold onto that stone, and take down that bridge until I know who's going to take a walk or throw a stone.
Did anyone see the lid to my can of worms?
