Solitary brings a burning to mind
Wishing love for all four seasons
Dressing quietly, lifting a white bag
Mankind can bring cold summer waste
Gambling gentle flowers for ornamental beauty

What is anything, without a warm smile?
What do words mean?
When they splash fountains of deceit?
Placing flags on the front lawn

Standing before a dreamland of innocence
Looking toward the evening sky
Does one realize, possibility is unstoppable?
Then what of fidelity to self? What of love?

Pedigree must slip from fingers
Forgeting what was, forget not, what is significant~
Not commercialism, not marketing, status of things, pride....
The colors have sunk in….
Asking, where do I go from here?
The core of being clearly touches life
You, me, stretching from our minds

I need intellectual love…and will stand alone
On a beach waiting, if it takes all of life
What trades instance for the infinite?
Something so extraordinarily ridiculous
Opening highways to decaying consciousness

Is something so far out of reach?
As many would lust you believe
Our minds stagger across a moon
Dripping of moans, loyalty chocking
Love stands before me confused

Narrow eyes look through portholes of night
Despair, blankets a weakening ocean
Laying vulnerable, halfway out the window
Another phone call, another knock on the door
Fear of being disloyal to parchment drug stores

Fine cultured fictions, dress our children naked
Drooling wolves leave their minds cold & vacant
Your daughter, my son?
Their original morning stories being unfounded
Barefooted, blood stained prisoners
Become two parts of a best seller
Sleep walking through forms of lies
Cutting the cables of spirit songs

Through desires and fleeting delights
Muddying purity of precious hearts
Essential core is slipping through our fingers
Tearing apart the smile of flowers
Murmuring…love me, love me not?
What gain has ancestry made?
Once a life’s been torn apart?

Why have men died?
Practicing countless hours, sleeping in noontides
Who drinks in red parlors of defile & snakeroot?
When the intellectual mind becomes a routine prostitute

Enough thoughts for one evening, I think
Worry only brings confusion and disbelief…

Looking up one more time, before night’s rest

There is sky out there bigger then one can imagine
There lives, pure silent white, growing from devastating failures

A timeless tale, inspirational glimpses of source~
Which will straighten, even the most crooked nose

Reciting a silent prayer, while deciding to leave on the light

Placing my head on a pillow of dreams

Nakedness becomes skintight

Tossing a coin in the fountain of moonbeams...
Silently whispering  sigh

Good night……

What an amazing collection of thoughts to gather before dreamland.  I feel you grasped the answer with
"Enough thoughts for one evening, I think
Worry only brings confusion and disbelief…"
Yes, worry only brings more worry.  KJ

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Goodness, LeeJ...such an outpouring of words from deep thoughts...no wonder you couldn't sleep.  You are such a wise soul, my friend...to question life as you do and to find the answers within you.  I am amazed by you and also wish you peace.

Lee - this one spoke very deeply to me and I find my heart lying upon the floor covered in tears -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Lee

This is the best I have read of your talent.

I will go through the other words over the weekend.
I had to get ready for the Ghana interview which put me under a lot of stress because it was so wide ranging and I had to prepare.

Take care

I wish I had two hours to spend with this poem, ferreting out all that's down in the depths of it. I think I'd know a bit of your soul if I did....I'm going to drop this into my library, and when I'm able I'll do just that.
