life as we know it should never be the same the girl dancing at the front of the stage should be me a checklist for the incomplete my life on paper i'll say 'i love you' to a stranger to hear it out loud there's something to cross off i'll kiss you and run to mexico we'll say i'm complete and the ocean will never be the same because you're not there to tell me it doesn't exist the eyes that sparkle in the sky you'll never name them for me anymore we'll pretend the sky made up the word love and we never existed you'll say were wasted and i'll drown my sorrows in my tears politics will rule time and space affection will be the past and the future is metal and dead we'll cry dry tears speak of how young we were ..and move on.. and the ocean will never be the same because your not there to tell me it doesn't exist ****************** Ocean? never existed? Now that is not a thought I would like to even imagine. Seriously, this speaks volumes of a heartache that just reached it's peak. Has that hard life knocks thing about it. You bring it to life very vividly and though not a happy thought, it was a very powerful and enjoyable read. |
