I'd never been abroad before
Never crossed the sea
Holidays in Britain
Were good enough for me

We've mountains, lakes and castles
Cathedrals, glens and tors
My country boasts a history
Much further back than yours

But computers shrink this world we share
And we were caught up in their Net
We knew we'd never rest until
The two of us had met

By the time I came to visit you
Flying high across the pond
You and I were soulmates
We already felt the bond

You treated me like family
Introduced me to your friends
My fondness and respect for you
Just grows and never ends

I love your country Nancy
Its friendliness and space
The yard sales and the dollar stores
It's a fascinating place

But your gorgeous home in Windsor
Is Canada's best by far
It's magical, warm and welcoming
Because that's where you are.

And now I've travelled home again
My holiday is done
But this is not the end of all
The friendship and the fun

For now a new world's opened up
A poetic family
And my heart is full as I explore
Your latest gift to me

Ah Mary, you grace these pages with a beautiful poem to a wonderful lady. Not only have you allowed us to see a bit of you and your home, you have shared part of Nancy with us also.
WELCOME to Passions, enjoy your time here,

A delightful read Mary. There is no one better than our Enchantress. You are so fortunate to have met her. I'm jealous!!

And welcome to Passions; a family of love and caring people.

I can remember meeting a friend out of my country for the first time who shared the same interests as me and still hold her dear today.  Welcome to Passions, and I see you pick your words and your friends well.

I've only heard of toerag as a kind of affectionate insult, if you'll pardon the clumsiness of my definition.   I'm very happy to meet you, and you may call me Mary, if I may call you Toe!

Mary....I've been called so many things by the "mean" people here you can call me anything ya want....(just kidding of course but I thrive on sympathy from women)...(it's also all I can ever get from women).....but you do have a dear friend in Nancy..and, if you're a friend of Nancy you're a good gal..

Mary~

You came by way of friendships' hand
that reached across miles of sea and land
Brought you here to friends-in-share
for the title of Poetess
you graciously wear~

WELCOME ... you will love it here~
We promise~

Thankyou Marge - and everyone.

I'm not sure that I'm a poetess,
But I am very sure that I'm in good company.
