Perhaps I Should Give It Time Since unpacking my bags I have searched everywhere My muse seems to have left It does not appear to be there I don't know where to begin Feels like the loss of a friend I remember the way we were My muse I could once depend Perhaps I should give it time Every poet would understand I had many a sleepless night Hung in limbo with pen in hand The writers still resides within Going through those motions Yet words can be hard to find Caught up between emotions While thoughts toss and turn My self-doubt began to verse With the midnight oil burning Writers block became a curse Hope©2004 |
