When Balladeer was ten years old
He thought he had it made,
He'd finally completed
Three years in second grade.

His life was always kind of sad,
(His weight-his looks and clothes)
Last one picked on baseball teams,
And first to pick his nose.

When he turned twelve a child was born,
Toerag was his name,
A unique baby boy,
(Had a penis and a brain).

Now Toe grew up quite popular,
A boy with looks and charm,
Cared for those less fortunate,
Protecting them from harm.

When Toe turned twelve and graduated,
From Harvard way back east,
He heard of Balladeer the scorned,
Whom everyone had teased.

'Deer was bussing tables,
At "Al Sharpton's House of Soul,"
Making less than legal wage,
But had no place to go.

Toe took Balladeer,
Beneath his caring wing,
Taught him to write poetry,
Play guitar and sing.

He soon became an expert,
Sang at church and then on stage,
He wrote a book of poetry,
With "delight" on every page.

Toe got him on a talent show,
Where he had no chance of 'losin'
Now an American Idol,
And has changed his name to 'Reuben'

this was great...enjoy your playful side

Excellent write, cept the part about Sharpton...I don't like that guy very much...
I'll tell you why sometime...hehehehe

Thank you Toe, for this comical jingle
Sure hope Deer can keep his ribs intact
after he reads this, he's gonna giggle!

Toe,
Don't know how you ever put up with him.
They will put on the plus side when they count your plus and minus.

Hahaha...looks like my bumping Toerag Boy and Blow-up Sue had good inspiration.   By the by, you can find that one in the Adult archive. *cackle*

Anyhow, I gotta say how much I've enjoyed the back and forth throughout the years, and hope to see more for a few more years to come.

Well this one certainly tickled me feathers! I knew you were kind, smart and educated, but I hadn't realized that Balls of Deer was a big, loveable black man with the voice of an angel!

Who'd have thunk a bug-chasin' redneck could have reached such a pinnacle and earned the adoration of the American public!

Life is certainly full of surprises!

BTW Kudos to you for graduating from Harvard when you were 12! ~ Mind you, I graduated when I was 11!

Rue-ben! Rue-ben! Rue-ben! Hard to believe that that was Bally all that time!

However... knowing you always speak the truth (*cough cough*)... I find myself saying something I never thought I'd say...

Sing to us, Deer... please??? Just one verse of Superstar? *G*

I just don't get it. I try to be a nice guy, give Toerag a little break because he has to go on life-support every time I go after him, do my best to bring a little civility to our relationship.....and this is what I get.  If I were less of a gentleman than I am, I would seek retribution or revenge in some way but, being the kind-hearted soul I am I will simply disregard this foul attempt to besmirch my character and continue to conduct my actions in the way condusive to my good nature.

Yeah, right....

What would he do without you, toe
What would we do without you both
Things are really getting back to normal
That is, normal for you guys

Loved this

Gee, Toe...I'm in total awe at the sharing of your musical talent.  If it weren't for you the Lad would still be bussing tables.  My, aren't you a blessing!

Yes!  You two are at it again!  Enjoyed your poem, and am appreciative of Ladadeer's earnest attempths to walk a stwaight wine, I
mean line.

I think this poem's a gas, but did I just wander into the middle of something here?

Please be gentle with me Toe, I'm very new to all this.

yes....Balladeer...(one of the very meanest and untrustworthy people on this board)and we tend to write a little about each other...(actually he's one of the most talented folks I know, can't golf, all the women hate him, and he wrote a book about poetry and it's really quite good but don't tell him I told ya so)....Seriously though...you should go to "search" and see some of his work...he really is a master poet and we all love him, he just doesn't visit enough anymore....
