in the shadows

The rain whispers change outside my window,
Autumn rain without a rainbow.

It is cold today,
yet the wind brings warm rain
in tattered old shreds from the West.

I know the world tries its best,
stubbornly clinging to Summer,
but it only retains enough of the rains
to make me miss lightning and thunder.

When the wind stops in fits,
the cold sits and waits
for the rain to run down and be gone.

This stumble of Nature
too deeply weighs on my heart,
and I fumble the start of my day.

I just wanted to find some small peace of mind
but the storm seemed to steal it away.

icebox

The weather can change feeling...the sky was dark here today and I thought it might rain, but it didn't.  We sure need it...and I need a storm.

oh, Icebox, I thought the rains I sent you from my West would wash your cares away...

"When the wind stops in fits,
the cold sits and waits
for the rain to run down and be gone."

I know this feeling all too well, so

for my next act, I shall try
to send you a rainbow...

hmmmm...storms of all kinds seem to steal the peace of mind we try so hard to find and cling to.

have I told you lately how much I love how you write and how you think?

icebox, sometime the rain simply fits
the day...and together they smile
taking each other by the hands, in peace
looking on together...

wonderful story sir, knight of words....
smiles and hugs

I look outside me window at the gray-stained sky and watch as the clouds bring in the wind.  Soon the rain will come and bring with it the cold that I long for.

You are an inspiration!
