Oldies

"Don't they know it's the end of the world"
when.....

Some days it just doesn't pay to exist
as those words of old play loudly
drowning out my other thoughts
while taking the long, tiring drive home.

Devalued, deflated Mondays
only bring me to Tuesdays
and a block of hours
to sleep off the depreciation.

I am a "yes" person ( most of the time)
probably not when it matters the most
but basically will give you the shirt off my back
and sometimes more.

I wonder though, why I don't fit
into today's world and
knowing there is no turning back in time
where do I go from here...

I’m a fan of the oldies, being one myself (so I’m told), but Mondays are very wearing to me also. Hope you get rested and face work Tuesday with a pretty smile. Where I would love to receive your shirt, your words lighten the mood of Monday knowing there are still those type out there. Don’t fit, be you through and through.
