What do you say the day Superman dies?
What kind hope is left in our eyes?
First he fell and lost his powers?
Now he is gone and the whole world cowers.
Who will save our trouble Earth?
Who will my children look up to?
Ninja, or Pokemon, Yu-Gi- Oh….
None compare to the great man with the cape.
Just what do you say the day Superman dies?
I want to see hope in my children’s eyes.
I want them to think good will prevail.
I want them to believe in this man as well.
I want them to know the simple life.
When the world marveled... at Superman,
And how he fought for justice for all.
And how only kryptonite could harm him.

My first response this morning when I heard the news was "ahhhhh".  But you know....life is death...and I believe now, after years and years of his body being unresponsive to his needs, he has freed himself from the shell of mortal flesh and is indeed now...a topic energy...and if anyman contained hope, he certainly did.  I can't help but wonder how many times, he wanted to give up, but didn't.

He was indeed a Superman....and lived up to his title with dignity...

We shouldn't be afraid of death...but consider it as much as life...

Just my thoughts

Wonderful write and good questions.

Chris Reeve will be SO missed.
He was such an inspiration to others.
My favourite film he made?....
"Somewhere in Time" of course.

May he rest in peace...
for I know we all meet again..
...somewhere in time.

Thank you for this tribute.

All that you say is true and well put.

As for your question, I heard very early this morning and said, "go with god, friend."

His tenacity for life kept him going for so long after his accident.  Thank you, lady, for bringing forth such a tribute for such a remarkable gentle man.

after watching tributes last night about Chris Reeve...I can't help but know, that his courage, dignity, hope and faith, has and will continue to filter throughout, especially those constricted with such illnesses.  First and foremost was his testimony to how irritated he became when healthy people complained, and he said, here I am in my wheel chair with nothing but opportunity at their finger tips...why can't they see their possiblities?

Bravo Superman! Bravo!

Thank you for writing this tribute...he is and always will be a superman in his own being!

What do you say when Superman dies? You don't use words. You use what he gave you. His life, end even his death should be an inspiration to everyone. His is courage personified...Superman didn't die as long as we can catch hold of his dream

Immortality through memory.
his name and deeds will be remembered for many years after his passing.

a most excellent peice of poetry to remember him by.

It's not the blindfold that blinds you,
it's the person that puts it there.
