Between the Lines

0 posted 2004-10-08 08:47 AM

What Could Be

tried to find that medium
where eyes would dance upon sight
and warmth would enter
and open up doors
even in silence

but it was always
those empty moments
always the stepping back

then the feel of soft lips disappeared
the fall of words never touched
the waiting skin

and the day would drag on ...wishing
when "if onlys" turned to moist eyes
and words could never seem to explain

so there will be the gray again
with no crossing over
and there will be no smiles
to someday see
for distance grows when no hands reach out
and hearts betray what lies beneath

there will be an "always" locked inside
for I carry your pain
of never knowing~

what could be

(love)

between the lines.

may not be what your looking for
but I'm standing here with my hand extended to you...I've got pretty large shoulders and great big ears...certainly not like the comfort of a man's love forevermore...but, sometimes friends fill in the gaps bringing light to the darkness...

bittersweet write....

hugs

Yes, well said!  Love is never between the lines - lines are merely make believe and wishing what could be.  Only touch can say it all, do it all, and be it all.  Without that, there isn't anything really worth having in the long run.  Perhaps if your wonderful writing skills were turned outward to the world you may see more wonder in this thing called life and we in turn would see it too through your gift of words.  All said kindly but I don't know how to indicate that here.

very heartfelt, enjoyed reading this

Awake through motion with curiosity to curtain your first move
Over arms length they'll break protocol
Jealous envy for the youngest one
