Between My Lady And My Lady

Caught between my lady and my lady,
so incongruous this situation, trapped
in this congruous museum filled
with artifacts that don’t affect us.
Suddenly this place is tearingly vital,
a chance visit or maybe my fate
throwing the three of us together
in an expected unexpected ménage.

I’m here to take my mind off my lady,
here to give attention to my lady.
One has come with me, unknowing,
one came without me, all-knowing.
One I’m holding close as elbows, while
one holds, stranded across the room
by the stiff necessity of distance.
One face calmly takes in the exhibits,
one hovers, frenetic, wanting more...

She’s here because we planned it,
she’s here by random whimsy,
each of them mine, neither mine.
I, suspended like a bubble
here between, revel and sweat.

Ah, this balance, this game you play - it is like dancing with a blade of double the sharp edges - careful - tricky, this.

whew...so you are sandwiched right in the middle!  Be careful.  You know what can happen to a sandwich...  Well, I guess that depends on the type of sandwich!   Enjoyed the honesty of this predicament.  Wish you luck!

Oh, wow. *S* Could there be a better description of tension??? *S* I think not... those lines define it perfectly... with a dash of terror for spice! *S*

I like this very much, my friend... I kept stepping into different shoes as I read... for you captured the multiple viewpoints so well. *S* Excellent work!

Jamie

Not an easy subject to tackle, but you've done so admirably!  As my mom used to say in a movie that all of a sudden gets exciting, "the plot thickens".

Thank you for this poignant penning~

And did you smile
in this glee?
Or dance a jig
in reverie?
Or walk backwards
with eyes all around,
or did you tumble
to the ground?

Methinks the poet man
should give himself
a clapping hand!  Loved
the visuals!
