I wrote this for my Aunt in 1994 when her son died at the young age of 9.
---------------------------------------------------

On The Loss of a Child

Ignornance and innocence
in measures meek and mild
there truely is no gift
so precious as a child

Eagerness and sunshine
in every little face
A beauty and a tenderness
the glow of perfect grace

But sometimes life is hard
and even angels die
Through a veil of tears
We beg to know why

But even in adversity
love will have its way
God will not abandon
or give a soul away

We cry out in sorrow
in emptiness and pain
But we must remember
our loss is heavens gain

My daughter is 9.  I cannot imagine.  You gifted your words with such grace - lovely

This is wonderful, Vickie. I look at our six little ones and I couldn't imagine a life without them. You made a sad subject beautiful and I'm sure this poem touches anyone who has been through the pain of losing a loved one, especially a child.

so sad...and yet there is hope. I can;t imagine what that must have felt like.  My heart goes out to the other people here who have as well experienced this.

Susan, Enchantress, dgvarner, passing shadows, MGROVES, Copperbell,

Thank you all for your kind words and for reading this. It was a difficult time but we made it through with a lot of love.

Martie,
I am sorry for your loss, and if this poem helped in any way, it was my pleasure.
And thank you for reading it.

Rascalx,
I too think of our children, and there is no way that I could grasp the idea of lossing one of them. Thank you.
