(Yay! Thank you all who either went to our Peace and Justice rally or cheered us on in spirit! We had nearly 10,000 attending to cry for an end to war and occupation worldwide.

I wrote this song over the weekend of the rally and performed this song there I love to share to you all, yay! )

Fall In Love, Not In Line
By: Noah Eaton
10/3/04

I don't forget that my voice is but one,
just a grain of sand on the beach,
just a marble in a sack,
just a raindrop blanketed in a leaf.
"Be the change that you want to see in the world.",
a voice in the wind told me,
every since I was a little boy,
I've tried to figure out what that means...

Through the eyes of our mothers,
I go for a little saunter,
I go with the flow,
and I begin to wonder,
if we can all re-learn to smile,
maybe everyone can recognize,
this sacred language we take for granted,
and we can all open our eyes...

Fall in love, not in line,
live for today each and every time,
the message is in the medium,
can you hear its vibration chime?
Fall in love, not in line,
arms are for embracing,
don't place the future out of their reach,
hold it in for nurturing...

I've found in time standing,
amongst the birds and the bees,
that it is better to die on our feet,
than live on our knees.
I'm no longer afraid to live,
I'm no longer afraid to die,
and as you unfold your wings with me,
I find I'm not afraid to live another life...

Through the footprints of children,
I run barefoot following their lead,
running wearing flags as capes,
slipping in the mud, getting ourselves dirty,
if we could find a place in the sun,
maybe everyone can realize,
we all share this sun together,
my oh my...

Fall in love, not in line,
live for today each and every time,
the message is in the medium,
can you hear its vibration chime?
Fall in love, not in line,
arms are for embracing,
don't place the future out of their reach,
hold it in for nurturing...

Fingerpaint the world with your dreams,
fingerpaint them in wild honey,
don't be nervous,
show them you can sing...
...it takes a heart to travel,
it takes travelling to understand,
it takes understanding to believe,
to believe they believe,
we all tear from the eyes,
we all bleed the same color...

Fall in love, not in line,
live for today each and every time,
the message is in the medium,
can you hear its vibration chime?
Fall in love, not in line,
arms are for embracing,
don't place the future out of their reach,
hold it in for nurturing...

When we wake up tomorrow,
can we realize we are one,
forget borders, boundaries and maps,
and together fall in love.
When we wake up tomorrow,
can we realize we are one,
forget fences, doors and windows,
and together fall in love...

But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20

Dang Noah ... that is some song ya got there.  I really liked the premise and message in this one.  You have much wisdom of heart and soul in this piece.  I have never been one for falling in line with anything other than my own remnants but you actually have given credence to that.  I very much enjoyed this one.  Now one question.  Where's the music? LOL very nice read.

BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!

You can be sure I was there in spirit with you and the others.
This song is great and reminds me so of the VietNam protest songs from the 60's.
Let's all join hands and pray Iraq is
NOT
another VietNam!

Thank you, thank you and may there be peace in our world.

Well done Noah....fine write.....though I doubt there will ever be peace as long as there are religious differences, false Gods and/or radical interpretations of their faith, and greed...sad isn't it....

Noah,

That last stanza was amazing.

  I love your purity.
