The Edge of Night

I seem to sail the edge of night
Desires wind is much too light
The doldrums seem to hold the ship
Within a mindless vacant grip

Floating in a glassy sea
With darkness over taking me
I live within a shadows frail
With naught of gleams of some how bail

Drifting in a gloom of edge
I see a pile of moments dredge
Waiting on the beach of time
In the form of dust and grime

And though there is no wind per say
I drift into this gloomy bay
A phantom in a fantasy
Reaching for eternity

It is the soup within my bowl
I sip each day to feed my soul

Sure hope that is a cream soup, Sy...looks like for me [sitting here in CA] that my home-town weather is getting fallishly cooler...   So I will continue to soak up some CA fog and fun and sun [when it decides to peak through the clouds] for another week...and will be popping in and out as I can to catch up on all of our poets' wonderful poetry!
