A Candles Sputter

I snuffed a bright of candlelight
Too quick the sputter of the wick
Distorted shadows walked my night
With dragon breath that made me sick

It did a dance of wind blown flame
Shot fireflies of winking leer
I felt no wind but felt the same
Like stabs of queer and stabs of fear

It played upon my alter ego
Brought to life disturbing thought
Seemed no help or amigo
I could not drink its wine of port

I’ve never snuffed a candles light
But right or wrong the light is gone
It brought no treasures to my sight
I’ll use another’s liaison

May your candles stay a steady bright?
And offer you a steady light.

Seymour~

'I’ve never snuffed a candles light
But right or wrong the light is gone'

I'm not sure why this thought brings tears to my eyes ... but it does~
Well ... maybe I do know~

Poignant penning, my friend~

Dear Seymour, your nights may be agitated, but they DO bring always great sharings in the morning!

I am a candle fan ....sometimes we leave them lit during the night (safely protected!!) and I am always caught in the play of light and shadows on the ceiling ...

YOU are BRIGHT!

Love, Margherita

You are my mornings cup of coffee. Don't really think it was the candles fault, but the person holding it. LOL
