Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-09-24 09:17 AM

Even When the Sun is Gone

Somewhere, there are gray skies
leaden down with rain
but I know that the sun is around
and it will peek out once again

Somewhere, there are clouds of white
rushing through on high
and a little bit of sunshine
peeks down from the sky

Somewhere, buildings will cast
shadows on the crowd below
but a simple ray of sunshine
lifts their spirits so

Somewhere, one is in a room replete
with no windows, shades are drawn
where one feels so incomplete
their only hope, the coming dawn

Just know, even if the sun doesn't seem
to be casting down its lighted beams
the sun can still be there with you
in what you think, in what you do

If you are one, who lives without the sun
for a day, or two, just know in your heart
that words can act like beaming rays
with good reading the shadows depart

So find joy in your write, and all that you are
find special ways to impart it, like shining stars

Starting today, I will be
in and out and around but
not as I start a hectic,
but eagerly anticipated,
schedule.  Sometimes you'll
see me, sometimes you won't...
but I know you will all leave
for me upon my return some
marvelous sharings of your
heart for me to read and
ponder over upon my homecoming.
Hugs to all of you lovely
poets...keep the home fires
burning, yes?

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Sunshine I love your words but the smaller ones I read from a distance of 2 foot with the keyboard extended.

Can you go for a bigger font on the more imaginative lines for us poor old souls who need to sit up straight.

The sun never goes for long -- and some clouds, even a little rain, can be a nice change even here in Southern California.

Karilea, I love this poem. Infact, I think it's one
of my favorites. And, I will miss you, SunshineyOne.
You will still just be an email away from me, won't you?
I sure do hope so.
Hugs, my friend

Did it again!  I've got to get more sleep!Where are those toothpicks when you need them?  THIS time, I'll check the library box.  Oh, who doesn't mind an extra bump once in a while anyway!  Now, the poem will be  securely submitted to my library.  Yes!

Hi Lady!

Enjoy your trip, the weather out here is fantastic (well a bit of rain in the northern forecast for the weekend, but probably not down south).

Enjoyed these uplifting words of yours, as I always do. Will be thinking of you!
