Months out of season,
Late in September;
Once forest-green branches,
Now paled chartreuse.

But an oddity rises
From pre-dormant roots;
Second round beauty
Of eye-lovely bloom.

Seems wrong, a stem of lockets
Protrudes,  bells of hearts
One branch, a single arch...
Dangling from the wrist of autumn.

Last stanza of a lovely poem
Read beneath a harvest moon,
Written in the book of summer...

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.
Longfellow

Mmmmm, what a delight.
