Sleep Prevention

I tried my dreams to recreate
though system failed, was incomplete.
Recalled the memories in hold
but once again came the delete.

From one night of a whisper soft,
those words that bring a peaceful need.
Unto the next of hour's chime
that cancels out the evening's feed.

To understand the me of me,
the hardest part of feelings known.
Blotting out, the trace of stain
the tarnished thoughts from blemish sown.

Easy not, been told before
but comes a time to give reprieve.
Here I am, a sleepless soul
always in wait, those word's receive.

So, sit here I, in night's distress
To dream awake this heart's express.

M

Beautifully captured. I often find myself in the same state and I'm sure tonight will be no different. Everything just keeps going...

So, sit here I, in night's distress
To dream awake this heart's express.

but if you must (dream awake)
it does puts you in the driver's seat as you can weave one the way you d like it.
