Clouds of a Different Color

Clouds that were at play last night
the ones of alabaster gleam
grew heavy and laden with pain

Their color dimmed, began to gray
deeper and deeper it became
until they could hold no more sadness
and thus began to rain
and rain
and rain.

The land is drinking in their tears
slurping with all its might
the worms will soon be unearthed
for the soil will grow too tight
for breathing, for passages
that are safe for the likes of them

The patio sits idly
while tiny pools gather up a stream
that seek the lowest point of earth
somewhere among the green

I will watch from my sheltered place
and revel in the washing
even though the leaves and seeds
may pool and join the gushing

Autumn’s on the threshold
her foot raised for her next step
is it time to set out the welcome mat
I’m afraid I will get wet.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

there are no words which can describe this poem, and do it justice...except "Master"
this was astounding...

The imagery in the first two stanzas of this one are superlative.  And the ending made me smile.
