The weather as ever, rules, but in minor qualities for the UK and you have had it rough.

No attempt to joke about the total suffering you have gone through, just an attempt to maybe lighten and endulge in the Brits discussing the weather.

I've written this about something called Wadfest - a yearly event run by Waddy for fans and fanatics of Terry Pratchett in September in a field where we camp, live and survive with standard British weather of rain, mud, boots, friends from a lot of countries and something, you dont forget if you take a single tent and forget the 20pences for the shower in the morning.

It is the same delight, hardship and devotion, that I think people who write here, enjoy.

Dave

On field 6 the quiet field
A choice noise rejoices you have found your home
Cramp in feet, socks in holes in the wood
Leaving a warm bedded bed
Feet in the air trousers everywhere
Vest stuck on arms
Propelling legs in mud enthralled footware and nature calls
To boots and please forget the saddles
Entangled in a tent
You hope it's yours and your brain relents
To a memory on the fire
Of wood and people from afar
Conversations waned and waned
In a field of words
Of friends
You have yet to learn from
And understand

It sounds like a wonderful campout, with lots of energy from all those different cultural backgrounds blending together out in nature. Enjoy, even mud and wet socks can be fun under the right circumstances.

It is amazing what some people will
cope to, in order to find sense
in their surroundings...

but you spoke the good, important words
here...

In a field of words
Of friends
You have yet to learn from
And understand

I know this feeling very well.

Dave,

Though I was never there, parts of this reminded me of the pictures people drew in my mind of the muddy days of America's Woodstock in the late 60's.  Enjoyed.

First and foremost my apologies for not replying sooner.

Sometimes I suppose I just want to write.

I hadn't put a tent up since 1969.  I had to keep wandering back to the car and getting the instructions out.

It was fun and the sleeping bag is better than any bed.

People are people I suppose and I wouldn't want them different, no matter what my opinion.

thanks

Why did you stop Lee.

I am just getting the idea after 30 odd years but it is course different for a woman in these days, which is appalling.

Toilets were better now and with 20p you could have a shower.

Yes life was different - I was in Singapore I think while this life was here.
