I took a look around the house at all I have to do.
I’m working on repairs, you see, but yet have cleaning too.
I need to go to market if I want to eat tonight.
But how the rain is pouring down; it’s such a dreary sight.
Perhaps you know of my porch plight, which waits for building time.
The rain has been so plentiful; I’d rather sit and rhyme.
I’d stay inside and clean the house, but I’ve no vacuum bags.
And when I check my rain gauge height, my heart just simply sags.

I don’t how I got this way, so balky at the rain.
But find that doing things I’d like is certainly a pain.
I’d gotten to the point that I was never getting wet.
Did I sometimes shame myself?  I have to say “you bet.”
Somewhere in time, I stopped myself from being such a fool,
And took a lesson that I read, in fact it’s now my rule.
I cheerily get on with life regardless of the bumps,
And now I splash just like a kid, no longer in the dumps.

“If you wait for sunny weather to be outside in life,
you'll be in the grave before you are in the world.

So what are you waiting for bub!!
Lets go skipping through puddles
and hope for a rainbow.

Fun read and a good message, kayjay~

I thank you, Blue, your words are true;
There's nothing like wet feet.
They let you see that life ain't free
But surely can be sweet.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Ken

Loved the thought of this and the upturned philosophy!  I could use a little rain to play in....I know, I better be careful what I wish for.

I know that you are sending all that rain my way;
it's supposed to be here pretty soon, give or take a day;
my cleaning is all done i[, my laundry is folded, true,
but my muse has gone along to watch that lovely rain with you!

I've been sitting here so long, with nothing on my mind,
and came across your charming post as you whittle time;
the porch dilemma will have to wait, there's nothing you can do...
but with my muse be entertained by that lovely rain and you!

Ken, see what you started? LOL
Now we're all going to be running around outside drinking raindrops and puddle jumping.

~ You rock, Ken! ~ Splash, splash, splash those cares and doldrums away!

Wisdom presented with humor .... you made me smile as I had to buy "urgently" new vacuum bags just today ....
You have shown how to rhyme rain with creativity here .... a combination I love!
Love, Margherita
