The fullness of your mind casts a shadow on your face
Taking you to secret realms, leaving time without a trace
And I hear the squeak of screened door close itself against twilight
As the coffee sifts my fingers through the filter of last light

There is nothing I can tell you that I haven’t once before
As the steam of two cups rising wraps my consciousness once more
So I carry warm the brewing to the step where you reside
Just a verb I am reviewing of romance on friendships ride

Self consumed you sit in silence just beyond awareness door
And I sit upon reliance in the depths that came before
Watching closely as the shiver of the night air thrills your spine
Calling to my inner knowledge as the hand you feel is mine

Looking out upon the likeness of the dreams you push away
Seen reflecting on the surface of the lake pools jeweled display
Ever faithful at your footrest just beyond the boundary line
Wags the true friend you depend on and one other given sign

Autumns coming, heartbeats drumming for a fireplace so warm
Smiles brimming, worries slimming in a place of rustic charm
Over easy, set upon you as my lips trace muscles clenched
Mouthing spells a life’s enchantment on the step we cling moon drenched

A wonderful read and such psychological complexity to surf through!

Love and Joy.

I wish I could sit at your table
and listen to you speak these aloud...
they always sound so good to my ear...

I was there with you, felt with you.  And your words, as always, so beautifully displayed.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

TD, this is incredible.  WOW!  How do you do this?  I need to get back here more often and study your work.

Love this!

I want to write like you when I grow up!!
Kathleen, you're in a class by yourself, and your poetry is a perfect wonder to me.

Thank you, always.

K.  you know that I have said before how
I thought a particular poem was probably
the best you had written...  Well,  I am
gonna stop saying that,  cause you continue
to come up with one that probably is...

This one probably is....but....  I didn't say
that, did I?

Well done Kiddo.  You must be feelin' a lot
better today...  That is a good thing.

"Mouthing spells a life’s enchantment on the step we cling moon drenched"
what a cool line!
In fact the entire write is such a delight, I'm keeping it.
