Cherokee Turning
~*Marge Tindal*~

Oh, Cherokee sing your song
astride a horse of paint
Night of moonless sky
across the valley
from over hill
I hear you
still
~

Cherokee guardian of this night
overlooks earth and her plight
Knowing not when the time
shall be-for the rising
of the old Cherokee
Watch and wait
the hour is
late
~

Draw ye nigh from the flood
River red with the blood
of the great Cherokee
Along the trail he
still cries the
wail of the
Cherokee
in me
~

Turning ~~~~ Turning ~~~~ Turning
Will they never be learning
Stand down Great Spirit
tend the burning fire
It is now embered
forever to be
remembered
Spirit Fires
of ancient
Cherokee
~

~Turned again because of an email request from a new little friend~
~Angel Markel ... thank you~

the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

The spirit arrowheads in which your stirring words were delivered, were mesmerizing.

An engaging and primal write. I feel the Cherokee blood (of which I regretably do not have a drop in this lifetime) rising in me from ages past!

Ah... this is so beautiful! Were the arrowheads deliberate? It's brilliant!

Third visit to this poem, time to say Marge, this is excellent work. Your love of these things shines out of it, and into it.

well, after reading this, my heart is happy as well, thank you Margie, your words translate just exactly how much we all have to be thankful for it.

Ivan hit us with all the rain it had left...lotsa flooding around here and New Jersey...my immediate area (southeastern PA) had minor damages, but those next to the Delaware River and Northern New Jersey suffered heavy flooding...lotsa roads closed...and so, it is good to remember, that we have so much more then some...always.

Thank you and Good Morning

I think sometimes our minds are linked... I didn't see this until this morning... but last night, I was looking at a picture and thinking I should send it to you. *S*

Keep listening, my friend... you speak the messages so beautifully. *S*
