Have i told you
(as if you harbor any doubts at this point)
that yes, i am quite insane,
not quite certifiable,
but within the realm of possiblity,

not over the edge yet,
but at the mercy of the big toes' agility to balance;

can you embrace me still, despite this madness
revel in the freedom of such complexity?
(despite the trappings of the paranoia
and the pain of ancient history)

do you realize
the offered rose to you,
grows now due to love, from where it stems,

deilvery to you of both the beauty and the ugliness

the innocense of the newborn and the following afterbirth

is it a commonality universal,
or just a solitary martyr's badge i wear,
to feel the slap of a lover,
upon the revealing of more than one face.

"is it a theme universal,
or just a solitary martyr's badge i wear,
when i must be punished
for the revealing of more than just one face."

Yes, this speaks to me and I understand -
well phrased-

  Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

superbly stated, powerfully woven

The title drew me in because I had to know how making faces and offering roses could be tied together...you did it exquisitely!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

A rose is a rose, is arose ....

.... and with such words in full bloom,

                        nicely touched!

Only you, goldielocks~
The ending was harsh, but I hear ya,
like that slap in the face that never stops stinging.

Hugsya, girlfriend~
