Days of sorrow
Slip in as a rain storm
Clouding on the horizon
Shifting with the wind
Until the sky is dark
And the heavens shed tears
Crying in the sadness
Of existence

But beyond that grey
Beyond the weathered storm
Lies a heaven of light
Where skies shimmer blue
And the sun is ever watchful
Winking its starlit eyes
With warm consolation
And shedding the hues of hope

Sorrow may darken our days
In the shadow of discontent
For a matter of a mere moment
Or passing into weeks
Ever sighing
With Woe-is-me
And hanging heavy
Upon over burdened shoulders

Then there -- upon the horizon
A sun beam reaches through cloud break
Shining down as if the hand of God
And a Rainbow is born
In a burst of splendor
In an array of promise
That there is a heaven above
With its gift of light and starshine

It is also a reminder to us that there is happiness beyond the sorrow, always.  We've just got to learn to be patient - though sometimes it feels as if an eternity.

Thanks for your reply, Marcel-

Susan~
So touching in the message ... and yes, yes, yes ... the happiness is sometimes slow in coming ... but it waits for just the moment when we need it most~

Lovely thoughts, my friend~

P.S. I just noticed the "woe is me"! You and I are so often in sync with lines we write! I just posted a little bitty poem and it has the same words! I didn't plagiarize! Angel's honour!

Thank you dear friends.  Today the sun is actually shining in full after a week of rain and grey- it is so in life, yes?  Love to you all.  How I appreciate you -

btw, Linda, yes, it is funny how our minds often follow the same path of thought
I shall go find your poem now and read it.

Beyond a star in glimmer
awaits an eye in shimmer
as clouds break away...
and the Sun says HEY!

Good to see you have a reprieve from the
gray and gloom...you wrote it very well.
My two children had the priviledge of
getting to see two rainbows at the same
time...they stood in awe,  eyes gleaming!

Barry, I've seen a double rainbow, your children had every reason to be in awe - they are magnificent, yes.

Susan,

This reminds me of two posts I had here 1)"The Sun Shall Rise Again" - I reposted for Larry C. and 2)"He Didn't Have To Do It".  The title "He Didn't Have To Do It", contain the best reply I think possible.  you painted a picture of His immeasurable grace and of His gift of picturesque, promising heavens that leads me to believe your words were divinely inspired.  And to think, when you see that citrine, purple, and crimson hue flood the sky, He didn't have to do that.  Your writing, I find on so many occasions, is simply breathtaking.  This is a keeper.
