I Speak

I speak upon the wind and breeze
That bends the trees and dances leaves
That squeezes into narrow holes
That blows the flames to light the coals

I send the words in woven rhyme
To thread the weave of changing time
To match the colors of the sky
To stir the clouds in daily fly

I ride within a chariot
And swing a mind of lariat
To keep the pace within each day
Each mornings light the light of way

I cannot catch the morning’s awe
Nor can I catch one moment’s store
Each treasure lives in moving space
And carries all the weight of grace

I speak of phantoms fantasy
The path into eternity
