The chain has been closed,
You know, the one you gave me,
Saying that you would forever be bonded,
To me and only me.

I took that chain,
From around my neck,
To signify the fact,
That I know you are not coming back.

Empty the chain rests,
Alone and lost,
Just like the promises you made,
Not fulfilled, at my cost.

An empty attempt I was given,
Because you said these words,
“I knew I was not the guy for you
I knew from the beginning.”

Your whole heart was not in it,
I knew that all along,
So why did I let,
My heart sing a half completed song?

I suppose because you were not afraid to take a chance?

This was bittersweet, gripping the reader....good one

My heart goes out to the pain in your heart and I pray that your heart and soul will soon sing the complete song to one worthy of its purity...
