I Lit a Lamp

Lit a lamp of pure illusion
And fueled it with desires fuel
Held it high to see conclusion
The glitter of a self made jewel.

A diamond made of ecstasy
That glittered like the dew of dawn
The setting made of fantasy
The beauty of the coming morn

I passed the night a flying dove
Serenity within a dream
And flew the rainbow path of love
Into the treasure of the seem

It was a wile of simple space
A hidden door within a door
Full of everlasting grace
My happiness of evermore

Created here a mental tea
A world within a world to me

Sweet song, Sy...
love notes all the way through...
they do make the lamp shine!

This poem is a jewel of many facets, the reader may turn it in different ways and make its content shine to illuminate whatever human mood it holds on to at the time..
Its meaning to one may not be what you as a writer intended....thus the beauty and ever-freshness of poetry,

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Sy,
You do have a gentle touch. And that is the first cup of tea that ever sounded good to me! I love this, nicely done.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

A soft read, with a touch as gentle that of a passing breeze - and as pleasurable.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

The good times are to be cherished always,
and what makes life worth living.

Again, it's  the message within your
rhyme scheme that means the most to me.

Good Sunday morning to you Sy~
