It’s easy to be brilliant when you started life
with a good brain and then received your daily bread
and wholesome food, a warm bed for your head
and natural nurturing from a nice nana
that never said no, just maybe.

The next time you scoff, giggle and point
at the poor human who sits and stares
at the sky in wonder, but doesn’t know
the earth is round

perhaps it is time to thank your lucky stars
and kiss your ego goodbye

as the sky IS falling.

That's what he was trying to tell you
as he was flapping his wings, staring at the sky.

I don't really remember all the words to the oldie goldie,"The Fool on the Hill", but I'm reminded of it.  Now the chorus is going to be playing over and over in my head all night!  Very much enjoyed.  You speak such truth.

Egos are such a nuisance and only serve to get in the way.

Like you said, there is so much more too be grateful for,
and egos simply do not come into play.

Looking good, Kacy girl!

So Chicken Little was right! Aww Kacy you are so wise.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Arrogance is on the top of my list of the most difficult subject to write about--but you managed it well, as a gentle reminder.

thank you for this Kacy...and yes ma'am.

I love your awesome spirit.

This hits me deeply - there is often just too much taken and rarely enough given and why is this?  Why are the world's values so out of whack?  You've a wise eye, my friend.

This is a piece I posted long ago- it is of similar relevance -
The Forgotten

I am, but I am not
I am here but you do not see me
For to see me
You would have to know me
And this you cannot do
If at first you dismiss me
Making up your mind
As to who I am
Before even asking my name

Invisibility is a shield
A barrier of sorts
Erected as a force field
Keeping out your silent slurs
That scream through your averted eyes
For how can you look at me
If I’m not really here?

Walk on by
Think not to forget me
For you cannot forget what you do not know
And you cannot know what you do not see
For I am, but I am not
Except inside of me
Where I cannot escape myself
Nor the fires of your ignorance
That brand me from within

S.A.T.

Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Dunc, you OK?

Susan, thank you for that, as it does have a parallel feel. I can't answer the Q's. Some will say humans have always been this way, we just didn't 'see it' until now.

Sy, thanks!!!

It is good to constantly remember that goodness doesn't come with stature and that
the uncouth or uncivil may have more substance than some men of office, all to zealous to keep their comfortable seats...How arrogant we are when we judge that uncouth person as being less deserving for a human ear...

I always love the truth you bring to the tables....always a pleasure

I don’t want the world to see me
cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken I just want you to know who I am

When your roof does not leak
When your lunch is not bleak
When your clothes do not reek
When your life is not meek

You are ahead of most of the world.

Well said, Kacy.  KJ

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
