The clock chimes...
a familiar unfeeling rhythm.
Withered sighs upon the hour,
as heavy smoke plumes dance in tune.

The dimmed lamp above slowly glares,
as windy dusk returns to night.
An awkward silence descends and sink,
Hush now...
Listen to its reasonating doubt.

Humming swirls of burnt out ashes,
fills the air with a poignant staleness.
Unfallen tears blind to another's stare,
This conversation is simply going nowhere.

The empty this leaves
fills the room.

Well done!

Resonating doubt, poignant staleness. You make me see emotions and feel them too.

Yep, there's better things to do than watch the clock,
and try to figure out where the nearest door is.

You created the mood as well as the doldrums.
Much enjoyed, Verve~
