So you would know me
But would you know the whole of me?
Were I to stand before you
Naked and bare
Could you still look upon me?
Once you see all that is there?

Would you look at the skin of me?
Not the flesh, but the depth of me?
The skin of the soul
Would your eyes pause
In loving caress?
Or would you shy from the flaws?

These scars you gaze upon
That seem as laced web wrapped about
They define the course of me
Healed but never quite dismissed
I ask you, would your lips still linger
In compassion drenched kiss?

Would your own heart bow to me
In honor of the truth you see?
Gifting me acceptance and respect?
For each wound you see
Shifted the course of my destiny
And brought me into your arms.

Beautiful Susan..
Lets hope most people look beyond the surface
and into the heart of the one they love.

An image of an image
Bare of need
Would you seek
Someone
So much in need

Drinking essence
Webs caring healing matching destroying
On a kiss

Torn by need

I drink

Loved your words they are very good
Yes to the vision you captured

Yes

These beautiful, questioning  expressions from your soul, must to a true heart, drape a veil over any imperfections.

Nancy, thank you dear friend

Dave, I enjoyed your response, a poem to a poem.  Beautiful words.  Thank you.

P.S. to be loved, flaws and all, I think this is our hearts quest.

Hugs to you all -  Susan

Would you see my galaxies absorbing deep oceans of love? Pleading for your love instead of bodies touching warm and soft my soul grimacing into you to wish upon the shooting star of your mind I kiss your holiness wrapped with bone and blood, but still adoring what you give.

You always inspire me to feel beyond this realm.

Haze- that poetry might inspire, this is the poets greates desire, to gift emotion.  Thank you for your most kind reply.

Time Prophet - yes, the greatest beauty and worth is deeper than flesh.  Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

Ah Jo, you sweetie.  I had someone say to me "I want to get to know all of you" and I wondered, really?  I wonder too if ever we can bare all of ourselves?  Does such acceptance really exist?  Other than in the sight of God?  Hugs- you.

Sue - thank you for your kindness.  Hugs to you too

I believe you've managed to convey the way most women feel, and want to be seen...
Thank you for your insight and clever way of elongnating some very beautiful visuals....

Susan,  this poem conveys many of my own
thoughts...those that come with getting
older,  when the figure no longer looks like
it did 20 years ago.  When running track is
no longer a vision,  but a fantasy....and
so many other things.  Yes,  would one still
want when they see all of us there is to
see,  physically and emotionally.  When we
share our deepest secrets and shames...

I understand this well,  and you wrote it
ever perfectly...

James - thanks

Dark - winking at you

LeeJ - thank you kindly

Barry - thanks for your understanding and your kindness, as always.  Perhaps this self examination is the beginning of wisdom that hopefully comes with age.

Hugs to you all -- S

Such acceptance does exist... but it's only after receiving such a miracle that you realize that all those who couldn't give it weren't worth the anquish. *S*

Excellent write! *S*
