~*~

I'm a needle in a hay stack
stuck between a crate and barrel,
the dark side of your light side
a worn out hide too tanned.

I'm a smile too wide to brand you
spread across your skyline,
another hand to fetch your dreams
when your heart breaks down and dies.

I'm a fickle feather in your cap
like you're the ribbons around my halo,
caught in the rain that fell too soon
casting shadows through my window.

But I'll not tiptoe 'cross your chest
or rip apart your belt loops,
I've seen your change of colors
and the danger zone you dare.

I'm cool water in a trough
where you show your prize and ponies
to sip until they've had enough
leading to a wishing well;

filled with superficial tears.

Beautiful imagery. You have an awesome gift. Keep it up. I want to be the ribbons of my love's halo one day. Whoever she'll be. She can be the bright wings on my back.

Bluesy -- I thought this was SO GOOD -- I started to pull verses to show you my favorites, but it would have been the whole poem.  So, I'm just going to put it all in my library.  Really good one.   ....jo

hugsssss you....

I don’t want the world to see me
cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken I just want you to know who I am

Lori,
You paint pictures that I love to see and then you brighten them more than anyone could. You're the best and this is wonderful.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
