Oh lord, I stray where youthful thoughts
Must sigh with pink astonishments
Where ocean’s lure begins each night
On lighter wings which missed they’re flight

Patterned plums laced with rhyme
Of muses flaming hints of mind
Where nature’s endless threads be known
Like bicycling down a path to home

We laugh and think about the ways
Of naked blacks and stormed malaise
Stairways frown a crowned discourse
Whipping the nose of rotting wealth

Gusts of sky will fill our sails
Beasts of prey pull the scales
We paint the floods on greens that roll
Like time’s colleague of menopause

Red shrinks to one curved soothing spot
Within the eyes of natural cause
Skips the poster child of vines
Where sentinels and God co-sign

So lord I stray where youthful thoughts
Are mused by life’s own epitaphs
Unflawed by sighs of grieving arms
Where day & night become as one

My muse climbs into deepest blues
Of oceans crib, her sweet perfume
Where presents are both new and used
Defiant muse whose winnings ooze
Who guides us on this scenic route!
Where trees sway to our spirit’s suit
