Hurricane

Phantoms ghostly shifts of light
Charging chariots in flight
Bringing barbs of streaming rain
A dance Macabre that screams insane

Flagrant gobbling up of matter
Regurgitating drunken scatter
Dissolving the reigning power
To sour wine of the hour

And pools of sorrows borrow
Drools the stool of tomorrow
Heaving into noxious clime
Depravity of father time

While sheep collect in manic flock
And hide beneath the panic rock
Waiting for the sun of bliss
To light the walls of the abyss

If life were but a hurricane
Then I could stand the strain and pain.

But mental are the winds that howl
and take me up by my own jowl;
woulds't life be but a hurricane...
I'd think myself so very sane...

Sigh...  I could feel the barbs of streaming rain and the gobbling of matter.

"If life were but a hurricane

It seems to me that you weather life very well, hurricane or not...

Sy!  I'm so pleased to see your words here this morning.
I have been SO worried about you!
Glad you weathered Frances well and are still writing away.
And this piece hits the nail on the head in describing the fury of a hurricane.
You rest...I'll pour.
~Morning hugs & tea, Nancy~

It's still going on, heading north.

Midnitesun,
Couldn't miss it, covered the whole state.
Glad you stopped bye.

Barry,

Yanno... I was praying for your safety... but wouldn't have minded at all if Frances had stolen a bit of your talent and dropped it on my doorstep! *S*

I'm so glad you're okay, my friend... *S*

Me too !

So very, very happy that you and Isabel are safe~
(Figuring that with Balladeer as a neighbor ... you've had more than your share of grief over the years)
Be nice, Michael~
