Does the Day Fit Ya?

have ya ever had the sneezin’ fits
when ya thought that ya’d lose your lips?

when right mid the sneezin’ throes
ya’d thougt ya’d lose yer bloomin’ nose

well I’m tellin’ ya, it’s gettin’ old
this semblance of a dad blamed cold

or allergies that seize yer knees
when e’er ya mow beneath the trees

and then there’s now when all I need
is to waken from a sleepin’ peace

what do I do; what do I say
I wish this fever’d go away

it’s just a little one ya know
it hardly keeps my bod in tow

wull, at least until today
my work has slowed, but not the day

this mornin’ I was on the run
down the hall, it weren’t much fun

and then I labored purty well
pulled some weeds and dug a spell

washed some clothes and paused between
wrote some poems and sneezed some sneeze

and now I find I hem and haw
whether to do. . . or toss in the tow’l

You have me laughing with this one....feeling
sorry at the same time,  but still laughing.
Don't ya just hate days like this?  I know
I do...been there and done that,  and it
was always my nose I worried most about...
Oh,  and the trips down the hall....

Being sick shouldn't be this much fun to read about! Clever write with some really cool phrases. I enjoyed this a lot.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
