Listening to every heart

Gray Cool Rags Time

This baggage will be profound,
en route to a past, where all
presents sound like yesterday, hollows
echoing former times,
where tracing lines lead through valleys
as dipping curves curse me,
rehearse me, traverse me,
waiting for me to trip upon my soul…

I want to seek once more rags of gray, where
finger wisps caress my cheek again,
shuddering goose-bumps to stand in line,
trembling me back to youth,
when sea-mist kissed my eyes,
yes, I want the rags of gray,

those hoary cool rags creating a time
where voices sound from far away
somewhere in the mist…

somewhere in the mist…
so let great curls and curves of wave
sound and pound despair of grave,
for somewhere ashes fed the wind
somewhere ashes fed…

my feet feel close chill morning sand,
eyes closed tight, my hand in hand
between two tall figures, who stand
to bear my weight in lift and flight
and hand me over, to the night…

hand me over, then, to cool gray rags time
come and kiss my cheek, sweet mist,
come and kiss…
let me seek these ribbons cool, rags
of time gray in hands of mine,
as salt comes to sting my lips…
yes, salt will sting my lips.

I will wait for sun to burn away
the gray cool rags of yesterday
and leave my baggage with time.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...

Wow, I absolutely love this Sunshinygirl, the way it rolled upon my tongue.

Good God, this is like a wave Kari . . .
it is timeless . . .

this blew me away . . .
it is like a song of yourself

Isn't this a place where we all wish to have
in our present,  not our past?  I think so.

What pulled me in here to read?  You did!
You grabbed me by the ear and said "come
on, now!".....Well,  here I am...

I take away many things from what you write.
Sometimes a remember of my own past...perhaps
a moment of philosophy,  of wisdom...of
saying to myself that I have been down that
road...she knows of it too...and more, much
more.

I love the flow, the repetition, the rhythm that the repetition brings. The images, the language as it caresses the lips tongue and ears. Yep! Great stuff!!!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

SIL, oh, if only we could!  This was an hypnotic piece.  I felt caught in a time warp at the ocean's edge.  Very special!   ......jo

like the skin when it is aroused

I can't say enough!  This is just incredible.  As I read it aloud, it wisped me along rags of gray.  Beautiful wording and smooth as silk flow...

Such a strong message of longing for those we've lost in life.  The only resolve is the feeling that those lost can still know we miss them.  Great images and flow.  KJ
