When sounds wake me in the night,
Which once would have woke you,
I hesitate to turn on the light,
Thinking you're there beside me;
But only empty space is there,
And no one begs me investigate
What might be creeping on the stair.
When sounds come waking
I just return to sleeping.

Oh...this is good. I like your critique message, as well. You may want to read around in the Poetry Workshop...especially if you want to share your knowledge of poetry and learn even more.

I'm going to enjoy you...

Wow, have you come to the right place! Next time you hear that noise just call your PiPs Posse and we'll take care of business. As for the teens well, we're pretty experienced here besides. You know Mark Twain said when kids hit Junior High they should be put in a barrel and fed through the hole. When they hit high school...plug the hole. Does that help?

Larry, sounds like wisdom from ole Mark, but I’m afraid that such activities are frowned upon these days. So I toss a blanket over the barrel, then no one sees.
