The Door

I often open up the door
To all the memories that I store
Light a candle in the past
Watch the shadows of its cast

In the light of phantoms dwell
I sip a cup, illusions well
To dance the dance of fantasy
Upon the sands naivety

It is my roam away from home
The epitome within my tome
The essence of my knight’s abode
The code allegiance and the ode

It is my alter ego’s seem
It shares my heart and all it’s dream
It is the flint within soul
And the footprints of my goal

It is the bail that sails the bend
It is my evermore and end.

A beautiful beautiful morning read Sy.
I do hope you and your loving wife are someplace safe now...
Let us know how you do through this hurricane.
You sit and relax, or try to, and I'll pour this morn.
~Morning hugs, prayers & tea, Nancy~

Shut that door, if only for a day or two,
and buckle down for Frances...there'll be
bailing enough soon enough as it is!

Hang tight, Sy!

Good luck with the storm.
They say now that it is slowing down but the wind speed is decreasing as well.

Sy,
I'd like to find that door! You ARE the man. Nice.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

It is the door for me, too.  Much enjoyed this one, dear friend.  I am hoping you are safe today and miles away from the mighty storm.   ........jo

Hey Seymour. I needed that! Thanks my friend. I knew I could count on you to bring a smile to my face tonight.

Don't we all.  If not, you're not living, right?  This is a seamless, flowing work of art.  Well written and beautifully painted as always!  It was a great pleasure to read and brought a rather large smile to my face.

Warm regards to you,

Kevin

To all my friends, I was blown off line for a while but then we all get blown off for a while sooner or later. Your answers fade the hurricane away.

In years to come Sy I can enjoy this poem and will always remember how one man over 3,000 miles away could make me smile on even the darkest day.  I will light a candle to the past, and enjoy all the fond memories that it will cast.

Very true. But because you do not have a lock on that door, you are able to realize that. This is nice work. Just do not stay on one side of the door or the other.
