Late summer's sun pours down it's rays on all,
The warming touch prepares the coming fall.
The still green canvas soon will change it's hues,
To firey colors against sky's blues.

No artist's brush could ever match this feat,
With endless subtle shades, it paints complete.
As master artist of all, Nature reigns.
In glory and splendor, it entertains.

As it completes each masterpiece for view,
Then quickly prepares to begin anew.
Soon stripping fall of it's colorful face,
Then dusting all with powdery, white lace.

Before the veil of white begins to fade,
The rainbow pallette for spring has been made.
With colors untold, it begins it's scheme,
Endlessly creating, changing the theme.

And it only costs you the time to go out
and watch her paint upon this giant canvas
of ours.

Nicely done,  welcome to Passions,  pleased
to see a new face...

With words upon your pallette, you paint the beauty of God's work upon this canvas well --I look forward to reading more of writing.

Welcome.

To all of you here at this friendly warm place, I thank you each for such a warm reception and your wonderful words of praise for my attempts to pen a poem of worth.
I am very new to writing poetry, these first ones I post are my first attempts, and I have not many of them yet..but will keep trying...
My time to be here is limited, so please bear with me as to my responding and posting, I do wish to read as many as time will allow me and respond in kind..

A special thanks to Maureen, whom without her kindness and belief in me, I would not be here to enjoy you all...

Thank you all so very much once more...

I like very much the way you handle rhyme....you paint it into the picture rather than sticking it on as a frame. That's where it belongs, natural and in the flow. I don't do rhyme very much, but I appreciate it when it's done right.
