He ponders long at her existence,
In wonder how a man can feel,
What is not there, has not subsistence
How can one touch what it not real?
It has been said a non poetic man,
Cannot dream poetic dreams,
But in her presence, yes one can,
For I have, to me beseems,
That whil’st I think not in odist thought,
I can sail on winds of time,
When in the night her words are brought,
To me in wonderous rhyme.
As shadows lengthen into the night,
And dreams are summoned forth,
She carries me to welkin’s light,
To Polaris, god of the north.
Amongst the muses, where she sings,
Unto a man from earth below,
Of splendored passions evermore,
The gift of love’s bestow.
He asks himself, can she be real,
This muse from stars above,
As from the firmament she sings surreal,
Her beauteous odes of love.
The answer is that it matters not,
For one can never lose,
Odes bequeathed in dreams of thought,
From the soul of a midnight muse.

I'm afraid it's a struggle to keep up with you Hoot, I have been looking for Mike for assistance, but he still seems to be missing. Your poetry is stunning as usual.

Beautiful -- what a gift, to have such words written of one as muse --

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

I often wonder...How is it you inspire me so? Perhaps a question that will never be answered. You certainly challange my muse, or perhaps you are my muse?
