I woke last night and went outside
to stare into the deep blue sky
to feel the moon shine down from on high
to remember the day i heard you had died

I thought of you, as I sat on our swing
The times we'd laugh together and ran
Over the fields and across hot sands
when we were younger, carefree, as birds on wing

I wished you were there in the darkness just then
To hold you close and keep you near
To hide you from your darkest fears
even for a minute... just to see you again

but all i can do is dream of you
as the silvery stars float by
Warm tears trickle down, I hate when I cry
Every time I dream of you, I keep hoping that I've died to

I can no longer stand, by myself all alone
I'm tired of being so cold
No longer wishing to live and grow old
My tired heart, slowly turning to stone

I wish I'd been there to kiss you good bye,
Now i lay hear and dream of you, yearning for the day,
you come back from heaven to take me away
and together ascend, forever into the sky...

One in a sea of millions has the power to change the world...

Technically, I've posted this one before... just redid it based on my current state of mind.

One in a sea of millions has the power to change the world...

Rdz,
I found fascinating honesty in this piece, though I cannot relate to issues of dying to be with one lost. But still appreciated very much the sincerity of this write. Peace...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
