Once we danced upon the sky, throughout the night until the day,
Encaptured in love’s sensual dance, two as one in heaven’s sway.
In moonlit sky on summer’s eve, within my arms fair Terpsichore,
We’d flee unto the stars above, and waltz on clouds ‘cross heaven’s floor.

Once we would sing in harmony, to music of the Muses’ lyres,
A symphony of love’s rejoice, accompanied by heaven’s choir.
Seven Sisters would strum their lutes, sweet murmurs of the night,
As I would gaze upon your face, an angel’s glow in welkin's light.

Once upon a midnight moon, we would dance upon a star,
I’d dance eternal with the gods, in the arms of fair Ishtar,
Once upon a midnight moon, I would dance on evening's mist,
Once upon a midnight moon, by a goddess I’d be kissed.

But music fades as does the night, ‘til notes are heard no more,
And only echoes of once was, remain on heaven’s floor.

Gee, maybe the music didn't really fade at all, the guy just needed a hearing aid due to aging?   All kidding aside, lovely write Jimmy Joe.

Listening to every heart

To bare the edge of heaven's grounds
where quiet is the only sound
and find a heart laying there in rest,
methinks you have found your quest.

Always, always
I enjoy reading of your love
of life.

Such beauty, such sadness. Happily, once is oftend followed by twice -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
