Between the Lines

Self

Sitting here shaded
in the darkness
just before sunrise,
a slight glow greeting me
through the eastern window.

Feeling the tightness in wrists
from the overdoing, yet knowing
there is more to accomplish
in so short a time.

Bathing in thoughts
of what could be someday,
while softly massaging the moisture
into my skin to warm the under
and soothe the above.

Smiling as I think about the touch
that unexpected words can bring.
How they can make or brake a mood,
bring about images and sensations
too often forgot.

How the turn of a word
can play down a hurt,
caress the pain and cast a new light
on the rise of a day.

Even if by design,
being caught on those webs
fabrics me in lace,
edged in thrill to capture
the breathless feel
that can be had so easily
through a filigree, implied.

Easily pleased
though a distance away,
waiting always for the one day when
the blush of a cheek
can be felt by one and seen by another
and the full moon
will light the night knowing
the morn will be greeted once again
with a smile.

Ohhhhh, how lovely and so pleasant your face is today...these words were especially smooth sailing, like the smell of salt air
You have a special gift today, and it's your secret, but this poem today speaks of happiness....hugs and smiles, wishing you a lovely day and weekend ahead.

Thank you for this write and read, as it is one of my favorites of yours.

Dear Maureen, these words sound so true of a heart that has been touched somehow; I am so glad you shared what you feel, it has given much hope to what a tomorrow can bring, thank you.

Sincerely
Rick
