Picture by Josephine Wall

* * *

I wrote this for my best friend, Katrina
whose firstborn baby was stillborn.

* * *

You had waited for so long
For this very special day
But a tragedy would unfold
Lives turned into disarray

Your baby angel was born
Without taking a single breath
Your world was torn apart
At such an untimely death

Your loss was incomprehensible
Hearts broken beyond repair
As you sat deep in your silence
Within the depths of your despair

Many questions remained unanswered
As you simply asked "Why?"
You stared deep into space
As a tear escaped your eye

He was too good for this world
And was needed elsewhere
But your sorrow and grief
Was just too much to bear

Your angel now has wings
He flies high up above
As he illuminates the galaxy
And showers you with love

He will never be forgotten
Of your life, he's still a part
For his memory will live on
Within the confines of your heart

* * *

"We are all angels with only one wing....
we can fly only by embracing each other"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

there are no words to describe the despair of a thing, and yet to find blessings in words you've woven for your friend will help her overcome and go forward...
Heartwarming words dear lady, bless you both

Sue, I'm so sorry for this loss...
we never quite know why...
we just know the empty.

Such a difficult thing, this, the loss of a longed for child.  My heart sorrows -- you expressed the hope of comfort very well.
