(This is another re-post, another which still makes my heart smile a couple years later and one I still yearn to read to my dream girl when I find her. )

Sunflower Sherbet
By: Noah Eaton
7/4/02

Fireflies jingle as lanterns in the sunflower pastures
Turning on the lights in romantic feng-shui
Burning sweet potpourri incense marinades
Drowning your lips into mine, burying you in this sunflower sherbet

The sky is a navel orange ripening
To the glaucoma of a tambourines beat
Playing as I sweep you off your feet
Drowning my lps into yours, making love to you in this sunflower sherbet

There’s a tire swing dangling from the honeysuckle trees
We push each other, screaming happily like the children we used to be
Crying staring into your eyes, seeing that girl within your womanly beauty
Rocking on the see-saw as if our growing up was just a myth to you and me

And as the sun falls, I’ll hold you dearly
Walking in meadows of gold rendered in the watercolors of hydrangeas
Rocking softly in Memphis bluegrass, rolling to natures orchestras
Carrying you, kissing your tanned neck through lovers lucky ravine

Fireflies jingle as lanterns in the sunflower pastures
Turning on the lights in romantic feng-shui
Humming sultry summer fireworks like every day is New Years Day
Drowning your lips into mine, burying you in this sunflower sherbet
Burying my heart in your angel eyes...

"You'll find something that's enough to keep you
But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20
